Job summary

Velo3D is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to assemble critical system components and test them for performance, under the direction of process and manufacturing engineers, helping to advance R&D and production efforts.

This full-time, on-site role in Fremont, CA runs Monday–Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm with occasional overtime; after 6–8 months the position will transfer to Livermore, CA, with 10–15% travel for US installations. The company offers healthcare coverage and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Three years of hands-on experience with mechanical systems and components.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Preference for experience with metrology equipment or specialized machinery.
• Excellent work ethic and drive for excellence.
• Good organizational skills and ability to keep detailed records.
• Motivation to identify problems and implement quality improvements.
• Honesty and accountability for mistakes to enable quick remediation.
• Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble critical system components, maintaining precision and high standards.
• Test system components for performance using advanced metrology equipment.
• Monitor material and parts with a keen eye for defects and non-conformance.
• Maintain organized and detailed testing records.
• Ensure adequate quantities of subcomponents and materials are available.
• Escalate and communicate improvement suggestions.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and shipping to dispatch components as needed.
• Collaborate with print shop team to develop operation skills for systems
• Collaborate with engineering to develop skills required for system bring up
