Job summary

Velo3D, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to assemble and test system components for R&D and manufacturing teams, working under process and manufacturing engineers. Candidates must be available to work Monday through Friday from 2:00pm to 10:30pm with occasional overtime.

On-site in Fremont, CA for the first 6-8 months, after which the position will be based in Livermore, CA. Travel ~10–15% of the time to support installations across the United States.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Mechanical aptitude with at least three years of hands-on experience.
• Experience with metrology equipment or specialized machinery preferred.
• Excellent work ethic.
• Good organizational skills and ability to keep detailed records.
• Motivation to identify problems and implement improvements.
• Honesty to admit mistakes and remediate quickly.
• Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble critical system components, maintaining precision and high standards.
• Test system components for performance using advanced metrology equipment.
• Monitor material and parts for defects and non-conformance.
• Maintain organized and detailed testing records.
• Ensure adequate quantities of subcomponents and materials are available in inventory.
• Elevate problems and communicate improvement suggestions.
• Work with manufacturing and shipping to send components where needed.
• Collaborate with print shop team to develop skills to operate systems.
• Work with engineering to develop skills for system bring up.
