Job summary

Velo3D is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to assemble and test system components for R&D and production teams, under the direction of process and manufacturing engineers. You will build and test one-of-a-kind components with precision using advanced metrology tools.

The role requires three years of hands-on mechanical experience, basic Excel skills, and forklift experience. Availability for 2:00pm–10:30pm, on-site in Fremont, CA, with travel up to 10–15% and eventual relocation to Livermore,

Qualifications

• Three years of hands-on experience with mechanical systems and components.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with metrology equipment or specialized machinery preferred.
• Excellent work ethic and drive for excellence.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to keep detailed records.

Responsibilities

• Assemble critical system components, maintaining precision and high standards.
• Test system components for performance using advanced metrology equipment.
• Monitor material and parts with a keen eye for defects and non-conformance.
• Maintain organized and detailed testing records.
• Ensure adequate quantities of all necessary subcomponents and materials are available in inventory.
• Reliably upscale problems and communicate suggestions for improvement.
• Work with manufacturing and shipping departments to send system components where they are needed.
• Work with print shop team to develop skills needed to operate systems.
• Work with engineering to develop skills required for system bring up.
