Job summary

Velo3D is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to assemble and test critical system components for R&D and manufacturing teams. You will work under engineers, building precision parts for Sapphire printers and related modules, with a focus on reliability and quality.

The role requires on-site work in Fremont, CA, with a transition to Livermore, CA after 6–8 months, Monday–Friday 2:00pm–10:30pm, and about 10–15% travel nationally for installations.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills including Excel.
• Three years hands-on experience with mechanical systems and components.
• Preference for metrology equipment or specialized machinery experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble critical system components with precision and high standards.
• Test system components for performance using metrology equipment.
• Monitor materials and parts for defects and non-conformance.
• Maintain organized and detailed testing records.
• Ensure adequate quantities of subcomponents and materials in inventory.
• Elevate problems and suggest improvements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and shipping to route components where needed.
• Work with print shop to develop skills to operate systems.
• Coordinate with engineering to develop skills for system bring-up.
