Job summary

TECOMET in Titusville, NJ is seeking a Manual Machinist to perform diversified machining of irregular shapes and alloys, including stainless steel. You will machine, finish, and complete tasks using common machining practices and hand tools.

Requirements include a high school diploma and 3 years of machine shop experience, proficiency in reading blueprints, using inspection tools, and basic Microsoft Office. Welding is a plus, and a clean, safe workspace is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3 years machine shop experience in an engineering environment preferred.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, work orders or written instructions.
• Able to read calipers, micrometers, optical comparators and height gauges as needed.
• Welding experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual machines (milling machines, lathes, drill press, surface grinder, and hand tools) in accordance with drawings.
• Rework parts per print with written and verbal instructions.
• Maintain on-time production by completing scheduled work.
• Inspect components and assemblies to ensure form, fit, and function meet specifications.
• Complete documentation and time entry; keep shop floor packets current.
• Maintain inventory of materials and assist maintenance with repairs.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop fixtures and tooling layouts.
• Support other production areas as needed and ensure clean, safe workspace.
