Job summary

TECOMET in New Jersey is seeking a Manual Machinist to perform unusual, specialty and highly diversified machining on stainless steel and other alloys. You will machine, finish, and inspect parts per engineering drawings and use hand tools.

Applicants should have 3+ years in a machine shop, be able to read blueprints, use calipers and micrometers, and work with measurement equipment. This role demands accuracy, attention to detail, and safe, efficient production practices.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret blueprints/d drawings and work orders.
• Experience with stainless steel and diverse alloys preferred.
• Proficient in measuring tools and inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual machines (milling machines, lathes, drill presses, grinders).
• Rework parts per print with clear instructions.
• Maintain on-time production and complete documentation.
• Inspect components and assemblies for dimensions and fit.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and accurate shop-floor records.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop fixtures and tooling.
