Job summary

M.S. Ambrogio North America LLC in Auburn, Maine seeks a skilled Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain manual and CNC machines to produce precision parts. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment.

The role requires reading blueprints, interpreting tolerances, selecting tooling, and ensuring parts meet specifications. Strong measurement skills and problem-solving abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent commonly required.
• Technical schooling, military training, apprenticeship, or equivalent machining experience preferred.
• Experience with manual machining, CNC operation, setup, tooling selection, and shop math.
• Ability to read blueprints and tolerances; understand machining symbols and inspection requirements.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges).
• Knowledge of metal properties, tooling, work-holding, maintenance basics, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders, drills, saws).
• Read blueprints, work orders, CAD drawings, and specifications.
• Machine parts to required dimensions using proper tools and fixtures.
• Measure and inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain quality and reduce scrap.
• Fabricate or modify machine components and tooling as needed.
• Maintain tools, work areas, and safety procedures.
