Job summary

Geater Machining & Manufacturing, Co. is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and NC machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts in a precision-driven shop environment.

Responsibilities include analyzing work orders and blueprints, selecting tools and fixtures, adjusting machine controls, and verifying finished parts against specifications with measuring devices. Collaboration with engineers and production staff is essential to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Ability to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Calculate figures and use basic algebra and geometry.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and NC machines and centers to fabricate parts.
• Analyze work orders, blueprints, and materials to determine processes and sequence.
• Align and secure fixtures, tools, attachments, and materials on machines.
• Set controls for speed, feed, coolant, depth, and angle of cut; verify machine data.
• Confer with engineers and production personnel to resolve machining problems.
