Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, is seeking a machine operator to operate manufacturing equipment and adhere to safety and quality standards. The role emphasizes adherence to safety policies and procedures to produce a superior product.

Responsibilities include reading specifications, setting up equipment, and maintaining housekeeping while meeting production deadlines. The position requires basic electronics knowledge, hydraulics, and strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or related experience.
• Basic understanding of electronics and programmable controllers.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electricity and tools.
• Ability to read safety rules and operation manuals.
• Math skills and computer literacy with strong mechanical ability.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates.
• Observes machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction.
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product.
• Make sure all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area.
