Job summary

Oldcastle APG in New York state is looking for a plant operator to run machinery and produce high-quality precast products. You will read specifications, adjust settings, monitor operations, and perform routine maintenance to support a safe, efficient workflow.

You should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work a flexible schedule. Prior related experience and the ability to read manuals are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent or 1 month of related experience in trades.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to be a self-starter and work independently.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with whole numbers and decimals.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and adapt to changing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale or templates.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Review product for inconsistencies and ensure quality requirements.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and meet deadlines.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
