Job summary

CRH plc in the United States produces precast concrete and related products. The Machine Operator will run plant machinery, follow safety rules, and help ensure product quality across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Must be self-motivated with ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates
• Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Assist other operators to set up machines and other tasks to meet deadlines
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned area
• Fill in when additional help is needed
• Other duties as assigned
