Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our precision manufacturing team in a heavy-duty shop environment. The role involves setting up and operating lathes, mills, drills, and CNC machines according to blueprints and process sheets, while maintaining strict quality standards and safety protocols.

The ideal candidate will have strong math and measurement skills, experience with calipers and micrometers, and a proven ability to work collaboratively with supervisors

Qualifications

• Requires basic math skills and ability to read instructions in English.
• Must be physically able to lift and handle heavy items.
• Must follow safety policies and wear PPE.
• Ability to stand for long shifts in a non-climate-controlled shop.
• Willingness to learn machining concepts and use measuring tools.
• Team-oriented and reliable with attention to quality.

Responsibilities

• Follow production instructions from sheets/blueprints to meet quality goals.
• Install machine fixtures to ensure safe operation.
• Operate machines (lathe, mill, drill, CNC) per specs.
• Inspect finished parts and measure against tolerances.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and comply with safety rules.
• Assist in other tasks or departments as needed.
