Job summary

Moog is seeking a skilled Grind Machinist II for the 2nd shift in Buffalo, NY. You will machine high-precision components for mission-critical aerospace programs, working from blueprints and instructions to maintain tight tolerances.

You must have 3+ years of grinding experience, be proficient with micrometers/calipers/dial gauges, and able to read blueprints. FAA Drug & Alcohol Program participation is required. A $3,500 sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; otherwise, ability to understand and apply instructions in English.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Grind Machinist.
• Proficiency with measuring equipment: micrometers, calipers, dial bore gauges.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and written work instructions.
• Able to select grinding wheels, dress appropriately, and meet drawing requirements.
• Must hold tight tolerances, e.g., .001 +/- .0005 (GD&T); FAA program enrollment required.

Responsibilities

• Grind a wide variety of complex parts from blueprints and work instructions.
• Perform setup, chucking, and alignment for irregular shapes.
• Dress wheels for form, taper, and steps; ensure correct speeds and feeds.
• Inspect work with air gages, diastest, profilometers and gauging tools.
• Participate in planning and problem solving within the cell.
