Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC machines performing cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, and related operations on various materials. Overtime is generally optional, but mandatory overtime may be required to meet production needs.

Responsibilities include mounting, aligning, and securing tooling, loading control data, and ensuring parts meet blueprint specifications using precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
• Maintains tolerances typically within +/- .001 or less.
• Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions and tools wear.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
• Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and workpiece on machine.
• Assembles cutting tools in tool holders and positions tool holders in machine spindles as specified.
• Loads control media or enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions.
• Calculates and sets machine controls to position spindle and regulate cutting parameters.
• Starts machine and monitors operation to detect malfunctions.
• Stops machine to change tools and measure parts for conformance to specifications.
