Job summary

Medeco Security Locks in Salem, VA is seeking a skilled Machinist for the 2nd shift to operate CNC and manual machines, read blueprints, set up tooling, and maintain tight tolerances in a safety-focused environment.

You will program and adjust machines using CAD/CAM software, perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with a skilled team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required with preference for technical certification or apprenticeship.
• Experience as machinist with CNC and manual techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and blueprints.
• Operate and maintain machining equipment to tight tolerances and precision.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a diverse range of machining tools per specifications.
• Use CNC programming and CAD/CAM to realize designs from blueprints.
• Perform precise changeovers and adjustments to minimize downtime.
• Conduct inspections and measurements to ensure quality and tolerances.
• Lead troubleshooting and maintenance to maximize machine uptime.
• Promote safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement (kaizen) in the area.
