Job summary

Medeco Security Locks in Salem, VA is seeking a Machinist for the 2nd shift to operate CNC and manual machines, read blueprints, and produce precision components for door security systems.

You’ll set up equipment, perform changeovers, inspect parts, and collaborate with a safety-driven team. The role offers on-site work, overtime as needed, and a path to develop machining skills across CAD/CAM workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical machining training preferred.
• Experience with CNC and manual machining equipment to tight tolerances.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machining tools per specifications.
• Perform precise changeovers and adjustments to maintain production flow.
• Inspect finished parts for conformance and record measurements.
• Lead troubleshooting and routine maintenance to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Support safety and kaizen initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing area.
