OPW Global in Whitsett, NC is seeking a CMM Operator to run coordinate measuring machines, interpret GD&T, and perform dimensional inspections on machined components to ensure conformance to engineering specs. The role requires hands-on CMM experience, program adjustments, and collaboration with manufacturing and quality teams.

You will work with Romer/Faro arms and other CMM tools, support PPAP/quality documentation, and maintain inspection records in a first-shift, on-site setting.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on CMM operating experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
• Experience using CMM software to execute and adjust existing measurement programs.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and dimensional inspection methods.
• Ability to independently set up inspections, evaluate results, and document nonconforming material.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Mansioni

• Operate motorized bridge CMMs and portable measurement equipment (Romer/Faro arms or similar).
• Execute established CMM programs and make routine edits as needed.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections per drawings and specs.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T to select measuring equipment and assess dimensional accuracy.
• Use precision measuring instruments and gauges for inspections.
• Review inspection requests, prioritize work, document results.
• Identify and communicate nonconforming material to production and quality teams.
• Maintain inspection records and support PPAP and other quality requirements.
• Run routine equipment checks and troubleshoot CMM issues; escalate complex concerns.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to improve quality and processes.
• Keep work area organized and follow safety/6S practices.
