You will lead technical feasibility, specify processes and tooling, and develop proposal packages while collaborating with sales and engineering. Up to 15% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical expertise in welding automation, pre-sales application engineering, or robotic systems integration.
• Strong understanding of GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, and robotic arc welding processes and how materials affect automation feasibility.
• Proficiency reviewing or drafting conceptual cell layouts using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.
• Professional presentation and communication skills to interface with client engineering teams and plant leadership.
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card holder residing within a 45-minute daily driving radius of Pewaukee, WI.

Responsibilities

• Lead Technical Feasibility: act as the main pre-sales technical point of contact, reviewing customer parts and drawings to assess weld feasibility.
• Architect Welding Automation Concepts: select welding processes, power sources, tooling, and robotic cell layouts (FANUC/ABB).
• Develop Technical Proposals: collaborate with Sales/Engineering to produce layouts, cycle-time estimates, labor hours, and BOMs.
• Conduct Process Trials & Testing: coordinate weld sample evaluations and feasibility testing prior to contract.
• Customer Collaboration & Travel: travel ~15% to gather requirements, lead design reviews, and present solutions.
• Code & Compliance Oversight: ensure weld processes meet AWS D1.1, ASME IX and customer specs.
