Job summary

Arizona Specialty Surgery Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for PRE-OP/PACU in a full-time role. The RN provides continuity of high-quality nursing care for preoperative and postoperative patients, including perioperative assessment, planning, and post-anesthesia care.

The candidate will perform preoperative duties such as admissions, obtaining consents, IV starts, and vital signs, and postoperative duties including vitals, patient education, wound care, and discharge readiness.

Qualifications

• Graduate nursing degree or equivalent.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Pre-Op/PACU; ambulatory surgical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients’ admission processes to preoperative department.
• Assess health status in pre-op and ensure wristband accuracy.
• Ensure operative consents are in order; determine surgeon and procedure.
• Record vital statistics to ensure readiness for surgery.
• Initiate IVs and inform patients about procedures.
