Job summary

Gateway Surgery Center in Central Phoenix is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement and document nursing care for same-day surgery patients, following established standards of practice. You will work within a supportive, patient-centered team to ensure safe, efficient perioperative care.

Responsibilities include coordinating with physicians and staff, evaluating patient data, and delivering education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing is required.
• Current, valid RN license in state of practice (or compact license).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• PALS certification within 90 days of start date if ASC pediatrics.
• Core experience: PreOp/PACU; FT/PT minimum one year licensed RN experience.
• PRN: minimum two years licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs across physical, psychological, social, spiritual, cultural domains.
• Plans care, including discharge planning, with patient/family input.
• Implements plan through direct care, coordination and supervision.
• Evaluates patient progress and teaches as appropriate.
• Documents care and patient responses accurately in records.
• Promotes evidence-based practice and participates in professional development.
