Job summary

DK Law is seeking an experienced Pre-Litigation Legal Assistant to support the Negotiations Department and help move personal injury cases toward resolution. You will communicate regularly with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and medical providers, maintaining organized files and deadlines.

The ideal candidate will assist with settlement negotiations, manage case notes, and ensure timely updates to clients in a fast-paced environment. In-office role at our Costa Mesa headquarters.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a legal assistant, preferably in personal injury or pre-litigation.
• Experience supporting PI claims, settlement negotiations, or insurance matters is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with bodily injury claims, insurance coverage, medical records, and settlement demands.
• Experience communicating with clients, insurers, opposing counsel, and medical providers.

Responsibilities

• Support negotiators and attorneys through pre-litigation and settlement.
• Provide clients with updates, answer questions, request information, explain next steps.
• Draft and send settlement demands, correspondence, and supporting docs.
• Gather medical records, bills, insurance info, police reports, wage-loss docs.
• Monitor deadlines, liens, and case-related tasks; maintain case notes.
