Job summary

DK Law seeks a Pre-Litigation Legal Assistant to support our Negotiations Department and help move personal injury cases toward resolution. This proactive, detail-oriented professional will communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and medical providers to keep matters on track.

The ideal candidate will assist with settlements, maintain organized case files, track deadlines, and provide timely updates.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in personal injury or pre-litigation.
• Experience supporting personal injury claims, settlement negotiations, or insurance-related matters preferred.
• Familiarity with bodily injury claims, insurance coverage, medical records, medical bills, and settlement demands.
• Experience communicating with clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and medical providers.

Responsibilities

• Support negotiators and attorneys through the pre-litigation and settlement process.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and explain next steps.
• Communicate professionally with insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, medical providers, lienholders, and experts.
• Assist with preparing, reviewing, and sending settlement demands, correspondence, and supporting documents.
• Request and organize medical records, medical bills, insurance information, police reports, and other case-related materials.
• Maintain accurate, detailed case notes in the firm’s case management system.
• Track deadlines, statutes of limitations, and action items; escalate time-sensitive issues as needed.
