Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks a preschool teacher of students with disabilities. The role involves developmentally appropriate instruction for preschoolers with special needs, aligned to IEPs, with collaboration across staff to implement academic and behavioral plans.

The candidate will work with regular educators to support inclusive classrooms, prepare lesson plans, and monitor progress to inform instruction. Georgia certification is required or in process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education required.
• Meets Georgia certification requirements in appropriate field of education.
• 3 years teaching experience preferred.
• Preschool teaching experience preferred.
• Valid Georgia driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide developmentally appropriate instruction to preschool children with special needs.
• Provide direct instruction and/or specially designed instruction aligned with IEPs.
• Consult with administrator to develop academic and behavioral programs.
• Participate as an active member of the team and support duties shared by classroom teachers.
• Communicate with regualar educators to support students with disabilities in regular classrooms.
• Prepare written lesson plans to support instructional objectives for all students.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional plans based on formative assessment results.
