Job summary

River Valley Regional YMCA seeks a Pre-K Counts Assistant Teacher to join our teaching team. Under the Lead Teacher, you will assist in planning and delivering a developmentally appropriate daily program that promotes each child’s emotional, social and cognitive growth in a safe, healthy classroom.

The role includes maintaining communication with families, supporting curriculum planning, and helping with records, materials and activities in a collaborative, inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Active CDA or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education with two years related experience.
• Ability to obtain clearances and complete mandatory trainings.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and communicate with families.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and delivering developmentally appropriate activities.
• Maintain a safe, healthy classroom and supervise children.
• Communicate with families and support curriculum planning.
• Prepare materials, attend staff meetings, and keep records.
