Job summary

The River Valley Regional YMCA in Williamsport is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our licensed childcare team. You will help plan and implement a developmentally appropriate daily program that promotes children's affective, cognitive, physical, and social growth, under the supervision of the Lead Teacher.

You will support multi-sensory activities, maintain a safe, tidy classroom, and communicate with families to foster strong partnerships. Training and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 2 years related experience with children.
• Act 33/Criminal History and FBI fingerprinting documentation.
• Biannual physical exam and initial TB test.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and mandated reporter training within 30 days of hire.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and clean classroom.
• Support children's social-emotional development and positive guidance.
• Communicate with families and staff to foster partnerships.
• Attend staff meetings and prepare classroom materials.
