We're a stable, employee-focused company where careful work gets noticed and long careers are the norm.ABOUT THE ROLEWe're hiring a quality-oriented Fire Suppression Systems Technician to install kitchen hood fire suppression systems, inspect hand portable fire extinguishers, and support our shop area with hydro-testing and recharging portable extinguishers. You'll also work on industrial and vehicle suppression systems. All work is performed in accordance with NFPA 10, 17, 17A, and 96.WHAT YOU'LL DOInstall kitchen hood fire suppression systemsInspect hand portable fire extinguishersHydro-test and recharge portable fire extinguishers in our shop areaService kitchen, industrial, and vehicle suppression systemsPerform all work in accordance with NFPA 10, 17, 17A, and 96Troubleshoot system issues and complete necessary repairsRespond to emergency service calls when neededComplete daily service reports and documentationAssist with shop inventory and material processingJuggle multiple tasks to maintain production deadlinesTake on other duties as assignedWHAT YOU'LL BRINGIllinois Extinguisher license, plus Illinois Kitchen and Industrial licensesHigh school diploma or GEDValid driver's license with a clean driving recordMechanical aptitude and a quality-oriented approach to your workAbility to lift a minimum of 75 lbs. and climb laddersBasic computer skills for email, reports, and spreadsheetsBackground in plumbing or pipe fitting is helpful, but not requiredTwo or more years of experience with kitchen hood fire suppression systems is a plusExperience inspecting and servicing fire extinguishers, and quoting repairs and installations, is a plusMotivated and able to work independently or in a team environmentAbility to pass a pre-employment physical, drug test, and background checkCompliance with the company Drug & Alcohol Policy — this is a safety-sensitive position and marijuana use is prohibitedSCHEDULE & TRAININGThis is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with flexible hours throughout the weekdays. Out-of-town work requiring as many as three overnights per week may be required. Technicians also respond to emergency service calls as needed. Training is provided on all equipment, and compensation will be commensurate with your experience.BENEFITS & PERKSGetz Fire invests in the people who keep our customers safe.
