Job summary

Getz Fire Equipment Company is hiring a skilled Fire Alarm Service Technician. You will perform field service inspections, install and maintain fire alarm systems, and troubleshoot issues in the field using hand and power tools.

Work closely with clients and the sales team to identify upgrade opportunities and ensure compliance with NFPA 72 and other codes. The role is full-time and requires independent field work with occasional overnight assignments.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience servicing, installing, and maintaining fire alarm systems.
• Familiarity with NFPA 72 and related life-safety codes.
• NICET I certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field service inspections and assessments of existing fire alarm systems.
• Install, test, and maintain fire alarm systems in compliance with NFPA 72.
• Troubleshoot system issues and implement lasting solutions.
• Collaborate with clients to propose tailored solutions and upgrades.
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations, inspections, and service reports.

You'll use hand and power tools to install, troubleshoot, and repair systems in the field, working closely with technicians, salespeople, and clients. All work is performed in accordance with NFPA 72 and other applicable fire alarm and life safety codes.WHAT YOU'LL DOConduct field service inspections and assessments of existing fire alarm systemsInstall, test, and maintain fire alarm systems in compliance with NFPA 72 and other applicable codesUse hand tools and power tools for system installation and repairsTroubleshoot system issues and implement effective, lasting solutionsCollaborate with clients to understand their needs and recommend tailored solutionsSupport the sales team by identifying system upgrade opportunities and quoting small repairsMaintain accurate documentation of installations, inspections, and service reportsManage your own service schedule and prioritize jobs to meet client and business needsFollow quality control standards on every job so systems perform reliably and pass inspectionWHAT YOU'LL BRINGStrong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience building fire protection systemsFamiliarity with NFPA 72 and other codes related to fire alarm and life safety systemsTwo years of experience servicing, installing, and maintaining fire alarm systems (required)Experience servicing clean agent systemsAbility to work independently in the field while managing multiple tasks efficientlyExcellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detailStrong communication skills for effective client interactionsPrevious field service experience in fire protection preferred; NICET I certification in Fire Alarm and Special Hazard is a plusAbility to pass a background check and drug screening (including marijuana)SCHEDULE & TRAININGThis is a full-time, in-person position, Monday through Friday, with overnight work required in some instances. Training is provided on all equipment, and pay of $25.00-$40.00 per hour will be commensurate with your experience.BENEFITS & PERKSGetz Fire invests in the people who keep our customers safe.
