Job summary

Getz Fire Equipment Company in Illinois is seeking a quality‑minded Fire Suppression Systems Technician to install kitchen hood systems, inspect extinguishers, and support hydro-testing and recharging in the shop.

You will work on industrial and vehicle suppression systems, follow NFPA standards, and respond to emergency calls as needed. A valid IL extinguisher license and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

  • Illinois Extinguisher license and Illinois Kitchen and Industrial licenses are required.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a quality-driven approach.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs and climb ladders.
  • Basic computer skills for email, reports, and spreadsheets.
  • Two or more years of experience with kitchen hood fire suppression systems is a plus.
  • Experience inspecting and servicing fire extinguishers, and quoting repairs and installations, is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install kitchen hood fire suppression systems.
  • Inspect hand portable fire extinguishers.
  • Hydro-test and recharge portable extinguishers in the shop area.
  • Service kitchen, industrial, and vehicle suppression systems.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and perform repairs.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed.
  • Complete service reports and documentation.

You'll also work on industrial and vehicle suppression systems. Out-of-town work requiring as many as three overnights per week may be required. Technicians also respond to emergency service calls as needed. Training is provided on all equipment, and compensation will be commensurate with your experience.BENEFITS & PERKSGetz Fire invests in the people who keep our customers safe.
