Job summary

MYR Energy Services, Inc. seeks a Pre-Construction Engineering Manager to oversee EPC project engineering for electrical substations, transmission, and distribution nationwide from bidding through closeout.

Responsibilities include coordinating design teams, interfacing with vendors, scheduling procurement, and ensuring final as-built documentation. Requires PE license, 7+ years in related fields, and willingness to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in design, engineering, or project management experience related to electrical, transmission, distribution, and substation projects
• PE license
• Experience managing project teams or consultants is a plus
• Construction related experience or EPC project experience

Responsibilities

• Understanding and preparing proposals for Engineer, Procure, Construction (EPC) electrical substation, transmission, and distribution projects
• Managing and coordinating all detailed design engineering subcontractors and the associated engineering field liaison activities
• Coordinating all engineered equipment and material procurement activities
• Interfacing with equipment vendors, including expediting vendor procurement information and deliverables, or delegating work to the procurement manager as necessary.
• Preparing the engineering and engineered equipment procurement requirements of the project
• Scheduling day-to-day engineering subcontractor and equipment procurement activities and coordinating these activities with the Project Executive and/or Project Manager
• Performing additional duties as directed by the Project Executive and/or the Project Manager
• Manage the testing and commissioning contractor for EPC projects
• Other duties as assigned
• Regular and predictable attendance
• Travel up to 25% required
• Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable
