Job summary

Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro, OH 45133 is seeking a Pre-certification Associate to manage timely pre-certification, pre-authorization and pre-registration for inpatients and scheduled outpatients.

You will verify insurance, register patients with accurate demographics, and inform them of financial obligations while obtaining all necessary information and coordinating with the Patient Financial Services team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare-related coursework preferred (2 years).
• Minimum 3 years of registration experience with insurance knowledge.
• Preferred 5 years of patient registration, insurance knowledge and billing experience.

Responsibilities

• Pre-certification/pre-authorization of inpatients, observation patients, scheduled surgeries, endoscopies and outpatients.
• Insurance verification for patients.
• Pre-register patients with accurate and complete information.
• Verify demographic and guarantor information.
• Inform patients of their financial obligation.
• Obtain necessary information (e.g., physician orders).
• Refer patients as needed to the Patient Financial Services Representative.
• Assist in developing policies, forms and processes for the program.
• Collaborate with department staff to ensure program success.
