Job summary

Mount Auburn Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Director of Practice Operations to lead multiple physician practices, ensuring efficient operations and strong financial stewardship.

The role reports to MAPS’ Executive Director and collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, and admin teams to drive growth, quality, and patient experience. The ideal candidate has a BS/BA in a relevant field and 5–7 years of healthcare management experience, preferably in physician practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and 5-7 years of progressively responsible healthcare management experience may be considered.
• Experience in physician practice management strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct operational oversight for assigned physician practices, ensuring achievement of organizational objectives, and strategic goals.
• Develop, administer, and monitor annual operating and capital budgets; implement initiatives to achieve financial and operational performance targets.
• Recruit, mentor, develop, and evaluate Practice Managers and other administrative leaders to promote engagement and high performance.
• Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies, procedures, and operational standards to ensure compliance with organizational expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with Physician Billing Services and clinical leadership to optimize revenue cycle performance, improve charge capture, and maximize reimbursement opportunities.
• Serve as the primary operational liaison among physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, practice staff, and executive leadership to address concerns and support organizational initiatives.
• Lead quality improvement, patient safety, and operational efficiency initiatives designed to enhance patient care and service delivery.
• Collaborate with Human Resources on workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and talent development activities.
• Coordinate support services and resources across departments including Human Resources, Information Services, Facilities, Purchasing, Security, and other operational partners.
• Partner with marketing and community relations teams to support practice growth initiatives, physician recruitment efforts, and new program development.
