Job summary

Toole Design in Silver Spring, MD seeks a senior transportation professional to lead our integrated transportation engineering and multimodal planning practice. This leadership role combines practice leadership with active project delivery, reporting to Engineering Director and collaborating with Design and Planning Directors.

You will mentor diverse teams, shape business development, and advance technical direction. A PE is preferred; PTOE/AICP credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience leading integrated teams in transportation engineering and multimodal planning.
• Proven ability to grow and manage a transportation practice and develop new work.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development and practice planning to meet growth targets.
• Oversee project delivery, staffing, and quality control to maintain financial health.
• Mentor engineers/planners and guide technical direction with senior leadership.
• Drive marketing and raise visibility of the practice locally and nationally.
• Lead major transportation planning and engineering projects and ensure client relationships.
