Job summary

Toole Design Group seeks an experienced transportation professional to lead the integrated transportation engineering and multimodal planning practice in Portland, OR. This senior leadership role combines practice leadership with active project delivery, reporting to the Engineering Director.

The candidate will mentor engineers and planners, oversee business development, shape technical direction, and stay active on major projects that strengthen client relationships and grow the practice.

• Lead a practice, not just a project, developing the next generation of engineers and planners.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development and practice planning to meet annual growth targets.
• Support financial health through project delivery, workload management, and quality control.
• Collaborate with leadership to advance practice priorities.
• Recruit and advise on hiring to support local and firmwide growth.
• Advance training, innovation and quality control across the practice.
• Support marketing and raise the practice's visibility.
• Guide subject matter groups for transport delivery.
