Job summary

Toole Design seeks an experienced transportation professional to lead its integrated transportation engineering and multimodal planning practice in Seattle, WA. This leadership role combines practice leadership with active project delivery.

We value a PE (preferred) and extensive experience (15+ years) in transportation engineering and multimodal planning, with a focus on mentorship, business development, and strategic direction to strengthen client relationships and grow the practice.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of transportation engineering/multimodal planning leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead integrated teams and grow a transportation practice.
• PE is preferred; PTOE and/or AICP credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integrated transportation engineering and multimodal planning practice in Seattle, guiding technical direction and project delivery.
• Drive business development and practice planning to meet annual growth targets.
• Mentor and develop engineers and planners; recruit and advise on hiring decisions.
• Collaborate with leadership to advance practice priorities and raise visibility on major projects.
• Oversee quality control, workload management, and client relationship growth.
