Job summary

Toole Design seeks an experienced transportation professional to lead its integrated transportation engineering and multimodal planning practice in Portland, OR. You will mentor engineers and planners, guide business development, shape technical direction, and stay hands-on on major projects.

15+ years in transportation engineering and multimodal planning is required, with a proven track record of leading teams and growing a practice. PE preferred; PTOE/AICP credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of success on transportation engineering and multimodal planning projects.
• Experience leading integrated teams, delivering complex projects, and growing a transportation practice.
• PE preferred; PTOE and/or AICP credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development and practice planning in support of annual growth targets.
• Ensure effective project delivery, workload management, staff development, and quality control.
• Collaborate with local, regional, and corporate leadership to advance practice priorities.
• Help recruit and advise on hiring decisions to support growth goals.
• Advance training, innovation, and quality control to keep our technical work at the frontier.
• Support marketing and raise the practice's visibility
• Guide subject matter resource groups that support practice delivery.
