Job summary

Toole Design seeks an experienced transportation professional to lead its integrated transportation engineering and multimodal planning practice from Raleigh, NC (or other offices). This firmwide leadership role combines practice leadership with active project delivery.

You will mentor a team, drive business development, shape technical direction, and stay engaged on major projects that strengthen client relationships and grow the practice. PE preferred; PTOE/AICP a plus; hybrid work.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of success in transportation engineering and multimodal planning.
• Proven ability to lead integrated teams and grow a transportation practice.
• Experience in business development, proposal strategy, and client development.
• Strong strategic thinking and commitment to technical excellence.
• PE preferred; PTOE and/or AICP credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development and practice planning to meet annual growth targets.
• Support the practice's financial health through project delivery and staffing.
• Collaborate with regional and corporate leadership to set priorities.
• Recruit and advise on hiring to support growth.
• Advance training, innovation, and quality control within the team.
• Support marketing and raise visibility.
• Guide resource groups for transportation delivery.
