Job description

The Practice Coordinator supports and maintains the practice administratively and operationally. Administratively, they assist the TH Hospital Medicine (THHM) Facility Medical Director, VP of Client Service, Regional Medical Director, and staff, working with hospital administration to meet all needs. Operationally, they identify and account for each hospital patient seen by hospitalist physicians, manage medical records for billing, and report key data for dashboards. They are expected to perform to productivity standards and meet target goals as outlined by their supervisor.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Carry out duties as directed by TeamHealth.
  2. Communicate regularly with the designated Supervisor.
  3. Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  4. Access hospital systems to ensure correct billing information.
  5. Coordinate completion of physician documentation and signatures.
  6. Report process deviations to Supervisor and seek assistance when needed.
  7. Achieve and maintain individual facility goals.
  8. Maintain professional appearance and conduct.
  9. Support leadership and staff as required.
  10. Manage monthly meetings, including scheduling, agenda prep, and minutes.
  11. Collect and track key data for dashboards and complete electronic dashboards.
  12. Handle message and mail distribution, and perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
  13. Obtain and verify inpatient records, ensuring completeness before batching.
  14. Ship records to the Billing Operations Center and maintain supplies.
  15. Communicate with supervisors and physicians regarding incomplete records, escalating as necessary.
Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of medical record processes, with at least one year of experience in a hospital or physician office setting, understanding patient registration and medical documents. Clerical and reconciliation skills, with the ability to maintain records.

  • BA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with speed and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Positive, courteous, and professional behavior, with ability to work well with others and handle conflicts.
WORK CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This remote position requires independent work, with responsibilities including reporting to management and maintaining a shipping schedule. Work involves prolonged sitting, standing, and use of office equipment, with occasional lifting and phone work. Overtime and additional hours may be required.
