Job description

Practice Coordinator - Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, TX at TeamHealth

The Practice Coordinator supports and maintains the practice both administratively and operationally. Administratively, they assist the TH Hospital Medicine (THHM) Facility Medical Director, VP of Client Service, Regional Medical Director, and TH HM provider staff, collaborating with hospital administration to meet all needs. Operationally, they identify and account for each patient seen by hospitalist physicians, obtain, reconcile, and forward all required inpatient medical records to the Billing Center, and maintain accurate data for reporting and dashboards. The Practice Coordinator also works with the facility to gather key metric data and is expected to perform according to productivity standards and target goals set by their supervisor.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Carry out duties as directed by TeamHealth.
  2. Communicate regularly with the designated TeamHealth Supervisor.
  3. Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
  4. Access hospital information systems or work with facility staff to procure patient demographic and insurance data for billing.
  5. Coordinate completion of physician clinical documentation and work with the medical director to ensure complete documentation and signatures.
  6. Notify the Supervisor and seek assistance when activity or process changes occur at the facility.
  7. Achieve and maintain individual target goals as designated by the Supervisor.
  8. Maintain professional appearance and conduct.
  9. Support Facility Medical Director, VP of Client Services, Regional Medical Director, and TH HM staff.
  10. Schedule, prepare agendas, and record minutes for monthly TH HM administration and provider meetings; facilitate scheduling changes and notifications.
  11. Collect and track key data for dashboards and complete dashboards for electronic interfaces.
  12. Handle message and mail distribution and perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
  13. Obtain and review inpatient records upon patient discharge, ensuring all required items are included before batching.
  14. Ship completed work to the designated Billing Operations Center and maintain necessary supplies.
  15. Communicate with TH HM staff regarding incomplete records and escalate as needed.
Job Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the medical record process; at least one year of hospital or physician office experience preferred.
  • Clerical and reconciliation skills with record-keeping ability.
  • BA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word.

Professional behavior, including cooperation, courtesy, and respect, is essential. Ability to work well with others and demonstrate leadership skills such as conflict resolution and negotiation is also important.

WORK CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

This remote position requires independent work, punctuality, and adherence to shipping schedules. The work environment involves prolonged sitting, standing, and use of office equipment, with occasional lifting of light items. Overtime and additional hours may be required.
