Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: This role involves assisting with procedures in CVS (EP Lab, Cath Lab, Hybrid OR, HRU, Stress Lab), including delivering non-narcotic medications to medical staff during procedures. The position requires oversight of all Cardiovascular Techs (CVT), operating and troubleshooting equipment, scrubbing, monitoring hemodynamics, and patient positioning. The CVT Supervisor also oversees daily supplies and procedure charges, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care. The role is cross-trained for EP Lab, Hybrid OR, Heart Recovery, and non-invasive procedures like EKG and Stress testing. Core competencies are assessed per the specific patient population served.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee all CVTs.
  • Educate and maintain departmental competencies for CVTs.
  • Operate radiographic and digital equipment.
  • Prepare patients, provide instructions, and assist with transportation.
  • Assist in procedures as scrub tech, monitoring tech, or radiologic technologist.
  • Function in all aspects of the Cardiac Cath Lab, Hybrid OR, and EP Lab, excluding medication administration.
  • Maintain sterile techniques and patient safety.
  • Prepare equipment daily, perform quality controls.
  • Ensure radiation safety, monitor staff badges and protective gear.
  • Assist with code situations, including CPR and defibrillation.
  • Support data collection, report generation, and staff training.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, equipment maintenance, inventory, and charge completion.
  • Coordinate with product reps and assist physicians with dictations and CV Pac systems.
  • Participate in standby and on-call duties, providing patient care coverage.
  • Maintain professional development and licensing requirements.

Job Specific: Lead Cath/EP Lab Tech

REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • One of the following: Registry in Radiologic Technologists, RCIS or RCVT certification, ARRT, or at least 2 years recent cath lab experience.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular technology college (preferred).
