Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary: To provide spiritual care services for patients, families, and staff in diverse clinical settings, considering various contextual factors impacting care from a spiritual perspective.

Essential Functions:

• Assess and evaluate patients' spiritual, religious, and emotional needs and resources.
• Collaborate with care teams to promote spiritual wellbeing.
• Assess units daily for spiritual care needs and respond to patient requests promptly.
• Document interactions, respond to directives and crises, and follow care procedures.
• Develop training programs, participate in committees, and maintain professional certifications.
• Build community outreach and volunteer relationships, and respond to interdisciplinary referrals.
• Maintain relationships with community spiritual leaders and oversee worship programs and volunteer services.
• Report on pastoral activities and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Preferred:

• Graduate degree from a theological seminary or social sciences, with Clinical Pastoral Education preferred.
• Ordained minister, pastor, Catholic priest, or licensed pastoral care liaison.
• Hospital chaplain experience and healthcare background preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Decision-making, confidentiality, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain health and wellness, self-supervise, and reflect company values.
• Effective communication, organizational skills, and community engagement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and understanding of various religious practices.
