Kimley-Horn seeks a Senior Leader to expand and lead our Power Delivery practice in Orange, CA, including transmission, substation, and power studies. You will implement entrepreneurial growth, build your own projects, clients, and team, and drive strategic direction for the practice with strong leadership.

The role emphasizes autonomy to lead, direct, and grow the business, with a focus on profitable delivery, client relationships and strong collaboration with partners and staff.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Extensive experience managing wind energy or related projects.
• Strong client contacts with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners, or landowners.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D, Excel and GIS.

Responsibilities

Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Leader to expand and lead our Power Delivery practice in Orange and surrounding markets.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead a practice specializing in Power Delivery (transmission, substation, and/or power studies) engineering services.

This individual will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for a Power Delivery practice while growing their own projects, clients and team around them.

Coordinate or direct development, energy assessment, engineering, or construction activities to ensure that wind project needs and objectives are me.

Leadership responsibilities include:

• Operating with integrity and sound business principals
• Providing vision, business planning and strategy
• Establishing goals
• Building and maintaining positive client relationships
• Having open communication with your partners and team
• Growing and leading a land development practice

Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor.

The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience managing wind energy or related projects
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
• Familiar with the relevant standards, regulations, and best practices for power delivery projects
• Extensive client contacts and relationships with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners and/or landowners
• Strong technical skills in AutoCAD Civil3D, Excel, and/or GIS
• Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work
• Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organizationAbility to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
• Demonstrated ability to manage land development projects profitably

Base Salary Range:

$175,000 to $255,000

Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation
