Geode Health is seeking a Practice Assistant (Float) to support our Athens and Lawrenceville offices. This full-time role blends front-office duties with clinical operations support, ensuring every patient has a smooth, positive first impression and experience.

You will manage schedules, assist with referrals and forms, collect payments, and help maintain secure patient records while upholding HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of medical office or healthcare experience preferred.
• Mental health or outpatient clinical experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and computer skills.
• Comfort and ease answering the phone – a firm expectation.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients as the first point of contact, delivering exceptional customer service.
• Manage daily schedules, confirm appointments, and handle cancellations and waitlists.
• Support check-in/check-out and ensure patients are prepared for visits.
• Coordinate patient intake, referrals, and follow-up needs; maintain accurate records.
• Collect payments and document co-pays, coinsurance, and outstanding balances.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant confidentiality and assist during crisis situations.
