Job summary

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. in Raymond, OH seeks a Powersports Strength & Durability Test Engineer to validate prototype ATVs and SxS for structural strength and fatigue. You will use strain gauges, hydraulic actuators, and off-road test tracks to collect data and assess durability.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, hands-on data acquisition experience, and strong failure analysis skills. A valid license and safe operation of test vehicles are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Hands-on data acquisition and sensor calibration experience required.
• Experience riding and evaluating powersports products preferred.
• Proficiency in failure analysis and lab testing procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and safe vehicle operation required.

Responsibilities

• Instrument prototype vehicles with sensors for data collection.
• Recreate real-world loading conditions using hydraulic actuators.
• Design and fabricate test fixtures and jigs with machine shops.
• Analyze test data and compare with CAE predictions.
• Propose structural design changes and countermeasures for chassis and suspension.
