Job summary

Honda is seeking a Product Testing Engineer (Strength) to drive development projects, validate prototypes, and apply new technologies. The role emphasizes CAE analysis and lab testing to ensure ATV/SxS quality and performance.

The engineer will work with the Fabrication and Test teams, manage schedules, and communicate test results while maintaining strict confidentiality. Prior powersports familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with data acquisition is strongly desirable.
• Hands-on experience maintaining, repairing vehicles is strongly desirable.
• Experience riding Powersports products is strongly desirable.
• Capable data acquisition and laboratory skills/techniques.
• Capable analytical, problem solving, judgement, decision-making and prioritization.
• Capable understanding of development project cycles, milestones.
• Capable in FTA, FMEA.
• Competent in written and oral communication.
• Competent analytical, problem solving, judgement, decision-making and prioritization.
• Competent in creating a plan and schedule.
• Competent time management skills.
• Must be able to possess a high level of confidentiality.
• Operate company vehicles and Transport Test Units.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test component and system layouts for ATV/SxS prototypes.
• Communicate specification requirements and control points via prototypes and drawings.
• Use data acquisition systems and strain gauges to verify strength and durability.
• Analyze data to present loading scenarios for vehicles.
• Set performance targets to meet concept and competitiveness.
• Validate components and vehicles using simulations and physical testing.
• Maintain development documentation.
• Capture real world customer usage data in the lab.
