About the Role:

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is seeking a Powersports Strength & Durability Test Engineer in Raymond, OH. You will validate prototype ATVs and side-by-sides (SxS) for structural strength and fatigue, utilizing strain gauges, hydraulic actuators, and rigorous off-road test tracks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instrument prototype vehicles with strain gauges, load cells, and displacement sensors for data collection.
• Recreate real-world off-road customer loading conditions in the laboratory using hydraulic test actuators.
• Design and fabricate specialized test fixtures and reaction jigs in collaboration with machine shops.
• Analyze physical test data, evaluate component fatigue wear, and compare results against CAE predictions.
• Propose structural design changes and engineering countermeasures for chassis and suspension components.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems, sensor calibration, and vehicle maintenance/repair.
• Experience riding and evaluating powersports products (ATVs, SxS, motorcycles) strongly desired.
• Competency in failure analysis (FTA, FMEA) and laboratory testing procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to transport and operate test vehicles safely.
