Job summary

Butler Machinery is seeking a Service Manager to lead the Power Systems Service Department. You will oversee daily operations, coach a high-performing team, and ensure exceptional customer service while driving safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include scheduling, quotes, warranties, and KPI-driven process improvements. You will manage staff development, incident resolution, and maintain a productive work environment within a family-owned, long-standing equipment

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service is essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer literacy and ability to use business software.
• Demonstrated leadership, attention to detail and strong organization.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
• Mechanical experience with the product lines represented preferred.
• Lead Yourself training for internal candidates is a plus.
• Prior supervisory experience or Service Management training preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Power Systems Service Department and ensure efficient workflow.
• Manage service scheduling, quotes, work orders, and warranty administration.
• Drive customer satisfaction by proactive issue resolution and service excellence.
• Coach, develop and manage service department staff including hiring and performance reviews.
• Monitor KPIs and drive process improvements to meet departmental goals.
• Develop business plans, staffing strategies and service growth initiatives.
• Review estimates and service documentation for accuracy and timely completion.
• Balance customer and company interests while handling goodwill claims and disputes.
• Promote a safe, organized, and productive work environment and uphold safety standards.
• Champion the company mission, vision and values in operations.
