Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) is seeking a Power Systems Model Engineering Intern in Carmel, IN. The role supports model validation, data mapping, and workflow improvements within the Modeling team to ensure high-quality grid models used for reliability and market operations.

Interns gain hands-on experience with CIM-based Model Manager and EMS tools, plus coding in Python/C++/Perl. This is a full-time, paid internship running June 2 to August 13, 2027.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an accredited degree in engineering or software.
• Strong programming foundation in at least one language (Python preferred).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Assist with model validation and data mapping activities.
• Support improvements to modeling workflows and data cleanup processes.
• Document findings and communicate results to the Modeling team.
