Job summary

MISO is seeking a Power Systems Engineering Intern to support reliability on the grid by aiding power flow studies, model development, and automation across Planning and Operations teams.

You will gain hands-on experience with PSSE, TARA, and EMS, and use Python/SQL to streamline planning studies and operational workflows. Housing is available for qualified students for the summer program.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Electrical or Computer/Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• Academic Level: Undergraduate.
• Degree options include Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support power flow studies and reliability analyses across Planning and Operations teams.
• Develop and automate models and processes using Python/SQL for planning studies and operational workflows.
• Contribute to real-world projects such as contingency analysis, transmission planning studies, and automation tools.
