Job summary

Siemens Mobility is offering a Project Engineer Internship starting May or June 2027 at our Wendell, North Carolina office. You will support standardization, update schematics, and learn protection and control engineering across utility and medium‑voltage projects.

Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering or related field, ready for a 40‑hour workweek during a 12‑week summer period, and able to work on-site near Wendell, NC.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits, power systems and design principles.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work on-site full-time (40 hours/week) for 12-week internship.
  • Located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC; no relocation support.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Enrollment in degree program with continuation after internship.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering standardization initiatives for utility and medium-voltage projects.
  • Update and create standard schematic templates and engineering design documentation.
  • Assist with process improvements to enhance engineering efficiency, quality and consistency.
  • Gain hands-on experience with utility systems, protection and control engineering, and medium-voltage concepts.
