Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking qualified candidates for a Manufacturing Engineering Internship beginning in May or June 2027 at our Wendell, NC office. You will support power distribution systems and Future Grids technologies in a collaborative environment, with hands-on experience in manufacturing operations.

The role requires a bachelor's degree pursuit in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, proficiency in Excel and AutoCAD, and a willingness to work full-time for 12 weeks.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field and approaching completion of the required educational credentials for this opportunity.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD.
  • Prior experience as an intern with Siemens Electrification & Automation (EA).
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship.
  • Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
  • This internship is a structured experiential learning program for individuals currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program who will continue their studies following the assignment. Current and continuing enrollment is a condition of participation. Applicants who have completed or expect to complete their educational program before or during the assignment period are encouraged to explore our Early Career Development Program opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting new machine implementation projects within the prefabrication department.
  • Conducting time studies and capacity studies to support manufacturing operations.
  • Analyzing workflow and logistics processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collecting and analyzing manufacturing data related to copper, sheet metal, and wire harness fabrication.
  • Applying engineering and manufacturing principles to support fabrication processes and operational performance.
